Doug grew up in Indio, California. An only child, he enjoyed playing baseball and football. Doug was a good student and a leader on the fields. Doug has been in construction since he was 15 years old, working with his dad in the summers and some weekends doing tile and stone construction. Doug went to work full-time for his father’s tile company when he was 19 years old. He did things like installing custom tile floors and showers. Doug also managed the granite shop for 2 years, leading a team of 10 guys fabricating custom stone countertops for new home builds and remodels. After 10 years in the tile and stone trade, during a slow work week, Doug decided to help a friend with some concrete slabs in his backyard. He was intrigued by the trade and the many different layers of concrete work. For 3 years after that, he continued to work with friends and some family in the concrete trades on the weekends and in his spare time. He was intrigued and wanted to learn more. In 2013, Doug decided to change trades full-time and stick to just concrete. He took a job at a local company and traveled around California doing large foundations, basements, retaining walls, and flatwork. He took to the work very quickly, and after 5 years with the company, he decided to settle down in Santa Rosa, California, and start his own company. Aleman Concrete has been in business since 2020. We started during COVID and remained afloat throughout its entirety. Doug’s attention to detail and general construction knowledge has helped him succeed in the concrete business. He still loves to sweat and work with his hands. He hopes to see you on your job site working alongside his crew.
